Green IT Promotion Council to Hold Green IT Award Ceremony to Be Held at CEATEC (Centre Daily Times)

The Green IT Promotion Council (Chairman: Etsuhiko Shoyama, Chairman of the Japan Electronics and Information Technology Industries Association (JEITA), as well as Chairman of Hitachi, Ltd.) has chosen this year’s winning products and solutions in the various Green IT Award categories following a rigorous selection process. The Award Ceremony will be held on the opening day of CEATEC Japan.

NASA taps IBM for supercomputer cluster (techcentral.ie)

IBM has landed a deal with NASA to build the space agency’s newest supercomputer cluster. The company will build an iDataPlex cluster system which will combine 1,024 Intel Xeon quad-core chips with NASA’s existing Discover computing cluster.
